Wilkie May & Tuckwood supporting local cancer charity ‘Hope For Tomorrow’ in 2018

Wilkie May & Tuckwood are proud to announce our charity partner for 2018 is South-West cancer charity, Hope For Tomorrow.

Hope For Tomorrow are a dedicated charity, which brings cancer care closer to patients’ homes via their mobile cancer care units (MCCU). In 2007 Hope For Tomorrow launched the world’s first ever MCCU to bring vital cancer care closer to patients, enabling them to spend more time with family, friends and loved ones. This scheme also allows patients who are going through chemotherapy to alleviate the stresses and strains of travelling for appointments, along with reducing hospital waiting times. Since the launch of the first MCCU, the charity has saved patients a total of over 2,000,000 miles and over 170,000 hours of travel and waiting time.

The first of our fundraising events took place on Saturday 12th May at Taunton’s EAT Festival. We are pleased to announce that we raised a total of £227 through our children’s face painting stall. Later this year our manager of Watchet, Justin Harris will continue his fundraising by completing two challenges which involve 100 miles of walking and running.

Managing Partner, John Wrelton, said: "We were incredibly proud to be involved with Hope For Tomorrow and are able to offer our support to the extraordinary work they are doing.

Hope For Tomorrow’s Susan Turnock, added: "The support and help we receive from partners such as Wilkie May & Tuckwood is hugely important. We are thrilled to have their backing, this is a fantastic platform for raising awareness of the work we do. Huge thanks to Wilkie May & Tuckwood and all their staff for their commitment to building this partnership."
